Good News and Bad News....(UPDATED)

Good News: I finished the 8 miles on Saturday morning! I got up at 6:00 and ran outside for once! I had to wake up that early for it to be cool enough to run then! I think it was still in the 70's when I started too! It was hard, but I FINISHED and then I tried to go back to sleep but I could not. So, I got up and did some major deep cleaning around the house, especially in the kitchen and bathrooms.

Bad News: About an hour after I finished the run until yesterday evening, I was in pain! My legs were killing me and I got a blister on my left heel. I think the long runs really mess up my systems, and it takes at least a day to be back to normal after longer runs. I'm thankful for the few days off, and will start back running tomorrow. 3 miles tomorrow, 5 miles on Thursday and 10 MILES on Saturday! I was in so much discomfort on Saturday night that I really wanted to quit. I thought that if I felt like this after 8 miles, then I will probably die after 26.2 miles! I thought of my 53-year-old dad training with me and all of the people that are supporting us. I cannot quit. I must press on!

Thanks for all of your encouraging words! If you have any other quotes, words or song lyrics that are uplifting please continue to send them my way! I know this sounds dumb, but please pray for my training, that my body would get used to the running and I would crave the run (as Travis Maclay says).

Side Note: Please pray for my interview at Barton Middle School Wednesday at 8:30!! The date changed, it's a long story... I'll give an update as soon as I know more information.

Praying for both of those needs -- the training and the interview!

You really made my day today. Thank you, Meagosaurus!!!!!

BTW, Brad has some words of wisdom for you re: training. He's a former marathoner, you know. I hope our paths can cross this weekend, but our window of time is shrinking... I'll call you later in the week to discuss.

So proud of you!
