Baby's Growth at 15 Weeks:
Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds. Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl!Lord,
Thank you for breathing life through my baby's lungs. I pray that, as his/her lungs develop, they will be ready to sing your praises one day. Thank you for the sensory organs that you are developing this week in my baby. I pray that as he/she first sees light in the coming weeks, he/she will become a light in the darkness and will be able to see you as the Light of the World. I'm excited to find out what my baby's favorite tastes are. Will this baby have a sweet tooth like me or a sour/salty tooth like Travis? Whatever his/her likes are, I hope that this baby will, "taste and see that the Lord is good." Lord, we are so anxious to find out if this baby is a boy or girl, but I pray fervently and whole-heartedly for a healthy baby. As we prepare for our next doctor visit in a few weeks, I pray that you would give us peace and that the doctor's would be able to perform a thorough exam on the organs of this baby, and that they would be functioning and healthy. Thank you for this precious gift, and sweet miracle of life. May I speak words that will resonate your love for me and others and may I sing praises to you continuously, as my baby can now hear my voice.
