26 Weeks

I passed the 26 week mark on the 26th, which I thought was really cool, since I love weird number stuff like that. Unfortunately, I missed the 100-days-till-due-date mark on Christmas Eve, so I couldn't do a cool post for that. We were having a great time with family and friends during the holidays. We went to about 7 different Christmas celebrations with family while we were in East Texas/Southeast Texas for 5 days. It was exhausting but well worth the visit! I'll post pics and more info on our holiday visit later.

Tomorrow we get to see Hudson again as we have another ultrasound. I think we have one more ultrasound left after this one, and it's always so exciting to SEE what Hudson looks like! Please pray that we have another good report and that he is developing well. I'll update more on the visit and post his new pics tomorrow.

Now that Hudson is 26 weeks, here's what's happening:
The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel.
