Hudson's Sixth Week

Sportin' his shades at the softball game! :)

Sleeping like his Pop, with his mouth open! :)

He raised his arms while he was sleeping and kept them up for almost 5 minutes!!

Hudson is growing and growing! We went to the doctor's office for a weight check and he weighed 8 pounds and 10 ounces! Good to see he's finally packing on the pounds or I guess, ounces! :) Pretty soon he won't be wearing any of his newborn-sized clothes and we have already moved up to size one diapers. Call me crazy, but I think he may be starting to look a little like me in his round face shape and his eyes :) I know he looks a lot like Travis, but I've been seeing a little of me in him at different times in the past few days.

This past week, we enjoyed our time at home together, since I start back to work in 5 days! I am looking forward to the financial benefits of working, but not looking forward to leaving my little guy. I am so afraid I will miss something or he won't know that I am his mommy because I'm gone during the day. It is nice that my mom is coming to keep him my first week back at work and Travis' mom is coming the second week. That should make the transition a little easier!

Last weekend, we welcomed the Swansons as they bunked with us for the weekend. Brittany's sister graduated from Texas State, so they embarked on graduation festivities with the family on Saturday. Travis and I stayed at home and hung out with Hudson until we had to leave that evening for our church's Legacy Banquet. It was a dressy event, so I actually got dressed up! That hasn't happened in a while! I figured that while we were dressed up, we should get some pictures with Hudson.

Todd and Jessica offered to come over and watch Hudson. We were so thankful that they offered, because we were going to have to take him to the nursery, and I was a little worried that it might be too soon for that. I at least want to wait until he has had his two month shots until we put him around a lot of little kiddos. Hudson had a great time with Todd and Jessica!

Sam, Brittany and Lucy headed back to Dallas on Sunday morning, so we didn't get to spend as much time with them as both families would have liked, but it was still great to see them and introduce Hudson to his future girlfriend, Lucy! :)

This week, Hudson has:
- still been sleeping in his crib at night. We are still working on him sleeping in the crib for naps during the day. Right now, he doesn't want to cooperate with that.
- slept for 7 hours straight one night! His average is about 5-7 hours a night now, before he wakes up hungry.
- still rolling over from stomach to back
- grinned a few times at Travis and me but it's not consistent so I haven't had a chance to capture it on camera.
- gone to church and Sunday school with mommy and daddy, and Hudson was great!! He slept through most of it!
- enjoyed his morning and evening time with his daddy as mommy is either catching a quick nap or working on supper
- started reaching for the toys that hang down on his bouncy seat and the toys we attached to his carrier.
- coos and makes other noises a lot!
- gone out in the jogger with mommy one morning and gone for walks in the stroller with mommy, daddy and the pups in the evenings.

This week, I also went for my 6-week postpartum dr. visit. Everything looks great so I can now resume working out full force! I am so excited! In fact, when Travis gets home this afternoon, I am heading to the gym to do cardio, weights and ab work! I can't wait to be sore (weird, I know).
