Last weekend, I traveled down memory lane. It had been ten years since I had been to a cheerleading competition, but it has not changed much! I was asked to be an additional chaperone with the Varsity Competition Squad at HHS last weekend in Houston. I had my own room, so I invited my mom and the boys to come along as well. Hudson loved riding the big charter bus with the TV on it, and they were both so great all weekend! It was busy but relaxing at the same time. We had EARLY mornings, but free afternoons to nap and even squeeze in a ten-mile run at Memorial Park in Houston with Jenn (who also lives in Austin but was visiting a friend in Houston, haha). We left on Friday morning and returned Sunday night. Our cheerleaders got second but they had lots of fun and I am very proud of them. Some of my JV girls even stepped up as alternates for some injuries that occurred on varsity this season. My mom enjoyed the time to shop at the Galleria (we stayed next door) and we even got to see Grand-D and KK (Travis' mom and sister). They came and took Hudson to the zoo on Saturday and stayed the night with us that night. We had a great time, even if I was exhausted Monday morning!!
