Livestrong Austin Half-Marathon

Finishers!!!
On Sunday, my dad and I concluded months and miles of training in the Austin Livestrong Half-Marathon.  The course was both fun and very tough!  By far, the hardest part of the course were the hills on Enfield Road on miles 11-13!  We made it and we even smashed our goal!  Knowing it was a difficult course, we did not think we would actually make our goal of 2 hours and 30 minutes, but we made it at 2 hours and 26 minutes officially! Unofficially, my GPS said we made it in 2 hours and 24 minutes.

This was my second half-marathon (look at my posts on the 2010 San Antonio race here and here), but my time improved greatly and the course was even much tougher!  I was pleased with the results and really enjoyed running with my dad! Thanks Dad for your encouragement when I needed it most!  Praise the Lord for a few weeks off from running as well!

Jenn made this awesome sign for us and was cheering us on at Mile 10!  Thanks Jenn!
Pre-Race at start in front of Capitol.  It was a little chilly that morning!
