Hudson is TWO!

Easter weekend, which was also Hudson's birthday weekend, we traveled to Lufkin to visit family and celebrate Hudson's birthday.  Hudson LOVES VeggieTales, so the theme this year was really a no-brainer.  Good Friday, we went to his 2-year check-up and here are his stats:

22.5 pounds :) our little man, but finally back on the charts at 5%
34 inches: 15%
Everything else looked great!  So blessed to have a healthy little boy!

After the doctor appt, we headed straight to Lufkin.  We arrived at lunch, ate with family at Chick-fil-A and then headed to the zoo. Lufkin has a great zoo that I often visited as a little girl.  I have great memories there and my granddaddy helped to build many of the habitats, so I knew Hudson would love it too! 

Saturday, we got up and got ready for the big party! We had about 20 family members come in for his party and Hudson loved his Bob and Larry cake! His Gran-D and Aunt KK did an AWESOME job on the cake, it was sure the hit of the party! We played outside, jumped on the trampoline and opened presents.

After the guests left, Hudson has his very own Easter Egg Hunt, where he was the center of attention. Next year, he will have a little brother and a little boy cousin to add to the mix! :)

That evening, we celebrated my grandmother's 80th birthday and headed back to Austin for Easter services at our church the next morning. It was a late night and early morning!

Sunday was Hudson's actual birthday, and he looked pretty spiffy for church! We enjoyed lunch with friends and a long Easter nap! It was a great day, capped off by dinner with friends at Rudy's the following night! Hudson is one blessed little two-year-old.

We are loving this stage: constant discoveries and new words, sweet kisses and hugs and a love for the outdoors!  He's been reading up on meeting his new baby brother soon and learning how to be a big boy. We haven't attempted potty training, but I am going to try it this summer before Brazos arrives (hopefully).  He has started to push the boundaries, but after one redirection, he usually complies.  He is also loving to draw with chalk, crayons, pens or whatever he can get his hands on!
