Well, yesterday, I heard from the superintendent of construction for our new home. He called to give an update on the progress of the house. He said that as of now, they were ahead of schedule, and he let me know what is going to happen in a few weeks... The last time we visited the house, Monday morning, they had put in the light fixtures and ceiling fans, starting painting the walls, and finished installing the upper cabinets in the kitchen.
Well, after talking to Brandon, we found out that there are now plumbing fixtures (toilets, showers, shower heads, etc.) installed, more tile on the floors, and counter tops in the kitchen and bathrooms! Also, the stone mantel will be installed tomorrow and the first pack of appliances in the kitchen will be installed next week, along with the carpet! I know I am not a construction expert, but it seems to me that they are not far away from finishing the home. Our closing date is projected for Sept. 30, which is still more than two months away! I am pretty sure that it will be finished early, so Travis and I are putting our 60-day apartment notice in to move out on Sept. 15!! It's exciting to know that we'll only have to pay for another month and a half of rent!! But, it's way more exciting to know that we will be in our house sooner than we thought, and I am sooo ready!! I have been saving my vacation days so that I can take a week off to move in and set things up in the house. It should be exciting! I want to get things situated quickly so that we can invite people over ASAP! We love entertaining and the apt. is just not big enough! I will post more pics of the house after we visit again...
