Today is my beloved Mom and Dad's 25th wedding anniversary. They met in June 1983, married in January 1984, and had me in February 1985! They are a wonderful example of a loving companionship that has weathered many storms. All of the credit goes to my mom, because it's not easy being married to a basketball coach, haha.... When I was younger, a friend gave my parents a little picture that said, "we interrupt this marriage to bring you the basketball season". I didn't really understand what it meant when I was younger, but now that I am married and working, I totally understand. My mom attends all of my dad's games, sitting beside him as his scorekeeper. During all of our moves, job changes, extended family problems, problematic children (not me, of course ;)) and other life changes, they have remained a strong unit, strengthening more and more by the day. I will never forget waking up early in the morning and hearing them pray together in their room before they get out of bed (as they do every morning), or finding little notes that they have written to each other around the house. Though I was embarrassed at how affectionate they were, I now am thankful to have parents that are still together and are truly best friends. Here's to my mom and dad and another 25 years! :) CHEERS!! :)
p.s. I wish I had a copy of their wedding pic to post here, but I wouldn't want to scare anyone after they caught a glimpse of my dad's fro and facial hair... haha! :) Love you mom and dad!!

Children learn what they live, for better or for worse. It's ultimately what our children live that makes them into the people they become. God doesn't give a human being any greater trust or any greater responsibility than the shaping of a person He made in His image. Our children are, as one author described them, "wet cement." What they experience with us day after day is writing things in that cement that will mark their lives long after we're gone. Thanks Meag for the amazingly kind words. I am the most blessed woman in the world. I have two awesome children and an awesome son-in-law. I am so fortunate to have such a Godly husband as Bob that has shared 25 years with me. I love you, Meag, MOM.
