Sweet Home Texas

Happy Wednesday, everyone! I wanted to give an update on my weigh-in yesterday. I lost another pound and a half, and I was pretty excited about that! I was a little nervous because I went to two catered farewell parties, out to lunch with Travis on Saturday and I didn't have as much time to exercise as I normally do. But, I did drink more water this week, and I guess that helped! This week will be tough, as we are going out to eat tonight (more about that later) and we are heading to Southeast Texas this weekend to celebrate my birthday with family. That will involve cake, good food and lots of calories, I'm sure, and it will also take away from my normal workout times. Well, I just have to remind myself to make smart choices!

Speaking of dinner tonight, Travis and I will be dining with our good friends, Spencer and Teresa Mathews, from Kountze. They were my sixth grade Sunday School teachers and they have been like mentors to us through the years, a second family. Their cute daughters, Kennedi and Reagan, were in our wedding and I stayed with them a few times when I went back to visit Lumberton while my parents were living in San Marcos. We always eat together this time of year because they usually come to Austin for the Educator's Technology convention in town. It always occurs around my birthday, so they pay for the dinner and we celebrate my birthday as well.

I'm excited about going to supper with them tonight and heading home to visit the fam this weekend! There will be some surprises in store, and I'll have to share more later... :)
