Wacky Wednesday!!

Well, I am already glad that it's Thursday. Not just because the weekend is one day closer, but also because yesterday is OVER!! As I was heading to work yesterday, about one mile from work, somebody side-swiped me on I-35. It scared me and really caught me off-guard because I count myself as a vigilant driver. Apparently, I was in their blind spot while changing lanes and they did not see me. Thankfully, I am fine and so is the other party involved. But, because it was at the point on I-35 where the road splits into two decks, there was no where to pull over or exit. They attempted to pull off to the right lane, but I could not get over with all of the other crazies on the road, and then the road split. I exited at my first possible exit and waited for them for 15 minutes, but I saw no sign of them. I felt bad because they attempted to pull over and exchange information, but there was no where to go. We lost each other. But, my car had some damage to the driver's side of the car and I had to report it.

By the way, immediately after the accident, I reached for my cell phone to call the police and Travis, and I couldn't find it- I left it at home! This never happens to me!! And, I was desperately trying to remember the license plate of the car, but I could not find a pen or writing utensil anywhere in my car!! In the midst of the chaos, I had to keep saying it over and over in my head so I would not forget it.

I finally got to work, wrote down the number and called the police. They came and looked at my car, filed a report and started an investigation to look for the owner of the other car. As of now, they have yet to locate the owner and I am hoping that I remembered the license plate information correctly!!

As if my day couldn't get crazier, my dealings with insurance and police made me late for an appointment for some teaching stuff. I was then pulled over on Enfield Rd. for speeding (43 in a 30mph). GREAT!! That was the straw that broke the camel's back (as my mom would say). I started crying and the police officer yelled at me for getting out of my car (I wasn't thinking). Since I was involved in a reported incident that morning, I got off with a verbal warning (PRAISE GOD!) and continued to my appt. I was actually only 10 minutes late and got out of the appt. early, so I showed up at Rudy's to meet a former co-worker for lunch. I waited and waited... Finally, they showed up but could not stay. Apparently, they had been trying to get a hold of me on my cell phone that they would have to cancel lunch. I understood and got lunch to-go and headed back to work.

As soon as I headed back to work, I found out that my dad's school was all over the local news because they were on a lockdown for possible gun threats and violence. GREAT! We found out that everything was okay and the lockdown was lifted in the afternoon.

I just wanted to go home and nap!! Napping was attempted, but interrupted by phone calls. The best part of the day- God really spoke to me at Small Groups and I felt so refreshed and thankful that God sustained me throughout my crazy day and even restored my joy!!

I'll leave you with a picture of the 7th grade girls from the BBC D-Now at my house a few weeks ago! Yes, it was in my front yard. They wanted to build a random pyramid in my front yard. :) Goofy girls!!

P.S. Maybe my car will be totaled and I can finally get a better, more economical car! :)
