Interview and Other Notes...

Yesterday morning, I had my first teaching interview! I met with the Principal and Assistant Principal from Dripping Springs Middle School about a math teaching position and coaching duties. I was a little nervous (haha), and it was a tough interview. I think I did pretty well, considering it was my first interview and I have no teaching experience. I KNOW that God was there to help me through some of the tough questions. Now, I play the waiting game. I hope to know something by the end of the week, though that is not a definite deadline. I'll keep ya posted.

Meanwhile, I finally got my car adjusted yesterday by the insurance guy. It was not as pleasant as I expected. Though they did give us money to fix the car, it was not as much as we hoped. Secretly, we were hoping it was totaled and we could use the money from the totaled car to get a used truck for Travis at the same price. O well, I'm still thankful that we'll be able to get it fixed (or keep the money).

We also met up with my grandparents (Killam) last night for dinner. They come to Austin every summer for their Texes Exes Update Conference. They always treat Travis and me to a very nice meal. Last night, we went to Roy's Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine and it was delicious!! It was so great to see them and spend time with them. When I was little, I would spend many weekends at there house and since I'm the only granddaughter (out of 7 grandchildren), they have always spoiled me! :) Though they are still able to travel a little, they are definitely not as active as they once were and my grandfather is suffering from Parkinson's Disease. I wish I could go to Lufkin to visit them more. I'm thankful we were able to spend last night together.
In other news, this College World Series is stressing me out!! The Horns have had an unexpected magical season and it's been so fun to watch. However, I got so stressed and nervous last night, I couldn't watch it anymore. It was a heartbreaker, but they still have another chance tonight and if they win their next two games, they are National Champs! :) I guess the other factor that really bugs me is that they are playing LSU in the championship series. Since we're from Southeast Texas, just a hop, skip and a jump from the LA border, there are plenty of LSU Tigers back home. We always have a rivalry during football season, but now it's heated up again with baseball. I really don't like LSU (almost as much as USC, A&M or ou), so I really hope that we get a few wins and take the championship home. So, I write this letter:

Dear Longhorns,

Please show up and play tonight. I am thankful for the FIVE homeruns that you hit last night, but I would really like to see some better pitching and defense. And, if LSU has stomach flu on their team, that would be okay too. (That sounded harsh, but it wouldn't be permanent harm!) I'll be there for you when you return back to Austin to light up the tower in lieu of your National Championship.

Hook em,

Meagan
