Almost 18 Weeks!

I really do mean to update this blog more often. As some of you can relate, time just gets away from me! :) Well, Friday is the big day. I've been having dreams all week about the ultrasound. Some have been funny and pretty realistic, while others have been scary and make me worry. This is what I'm praying for:

- Safe travel for family that is coming to Austin for the dr. visit

- Healthy baby with a great heartbeat

- Healthy baby with functioning organs, etc., as these will be checked at the appt.

- Baby to spread those legs so we can get a clear picture of the sex of the baby! :)

- All around good report from the doctor!!

So, I'm also asking that y'all pray for me. I know that anxiety is common for pregnant women, especially those pregnant for the first time. Well, I think I've felt the baby move some, but I'm not totally sure... On that note, I have been feeling different, which I hope is a good thing, and I'm finally shrugging the weird nausea stuff. But, I do worry that my feelings are related to something bad. I have seen/heard/read a few stories in passing this week of women who lost their babies or had complications and this doesn't help. I have no reason to worry, since I've never had any bad warning signs, but I do worry that I'm not showing as much as I should be at this stage. It's hard not to compare yourself to other pregnant women at 18 weeks. I'm getting nervous for my appt. on Friday, not just that we will be able to tell if our baby is a boy or a girl, but merely just to hear the heartbeat and have a peace of mind that everything is okay. Please pray for that! I will certainly let y'all know the news after Friday's appt!

17 Weeks Update:

Your baby's skeleton is changingfrom soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.
