I am starting to wear ALL maternity clothes, now. No more pre-pregnancy jeans. I had to finally retire those last Wednesday when they would no longer button. Sad day. But, my mom came to the rescue and brought more maternity jeans to me. I still have not had a lot of questions about my due date in public, so I guess I'm just now starting to show or look like I'm not just chubby. I feel really pregnant today, and the baby bump is apparent! Right now, I am enjoying the feeling of Hudson moving in my tummy. He must like the mexican food I just consumed from lunch! :)
I will probably start talking to our HR rep soon about my maternity leave and any paperwork that must be completed prior. I'm hoping by some miracle that I'll get to work part-time from home for some of my maternity leave. I have to ask about that, though.... Pray about that! Other than that, we are just cruising along now. I go to the doctor on the 25th for my next check-up, then Thanksgiving, then Black Friday shopping! :) Woohoo!! I've been thinking about ideas on our family Christmas picture this year, but I can't decide on anything cool. Should we include the dogs or just make it one last pic of me and Travis?
Here are the 20-week stats:
Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe.)
He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).
