23 Weeks

Well, 23 is a good number. I like Michael Jordan, that was his number. I like that 2+3=5, which is a good round number, 23 is also a prime number. Special, huh? Well, less than 17 weeks left, which sounds like a lot, but considering I've already know I was pregnant for about 17 weeks, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I am also happy because I have not gained as much as I thought I would. I'm still not getting too excited about this yet, because I hear that most weight is gained in the last trimester. By the way, my third trimester starts in less than a month! :) I know I've said this before, but there will be no post-holiday blues for me, for I will still have fun things to look forward to: 2 baby showers in January, a weekend at a Bed-N-Breakfast and a few more baby showers in February. Don't forget about my special 25th birthday either! :)

I'm convinced that Hudson will be a soccer player. He likes playing soccer at bedtime or even during the middle of the night. Travis is happy about this, and I certainly don't mind because it always tells me that he's still doing well! :)

So, long story, but we decided to exchange our Christmas presents early, so I found out last night that I got a new camera! :) YAY! I'm so excited, it's pretty and Travis does a lot a research, so I know that this was a smart purchase. Can't wait to take pictures at Christmas, baby showers and of course, Hudson! Thank you Travi! I got him a projector, but it doesn't work that well and the picture is not very clear (especially when we are so used to HD TV). So we will be exchanging that for something else that he needs more.

How is your Christmas shopping going? I'm almost finished, I just have a few more gifts to buy. Gearing up for the three Christmas parties we have this week, starting Thursday. Cookie exchange party on Thursday, Sunday School party on Friday, Alphagraphics party on Saturday, and we are eating supper with Dustin and Maria on Sunday. Whew! I love this season though!

Hope you have a great day! Travis and I are both attending a special UIL Centennial Recognition party this afternoon at Threadgill's. Amazing that the UIL started 100 years ago today in an Abilene school. There's some trivia for you. Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Here's what's going on with Hudson at 23 weeks:
Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With his sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that he's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see him squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in his lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing him for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze him when he hears them outside the womb. (Good thing with two dogs, haha).

Lord,
Thank you for Hudson's kicks, punches and movements. It's so amazing to feel him in two different places moving his hands and legs at the same time! I stand amazed at what you have created! Continue to hold him in your hands and may he continue to grow and develop into a healthy little boy! I can't wait to see him breathing and moving. I do pray that you begin to prepare our home and family (including the dogs) for his arrival. Take away any anxieties I may have about parenting. I know that you will always be the ultimate Father. Thank you for your steadfast love and devotion to your children, of all ages. We celebrate you and your Son this season, and in every season.
