27 Weeks

Well, according to one pregnancy calendar, I've officially started my third trimester! Another calendar says that I have to wait until 28 weeks to begin the third trimester, but I'm going with the first date! So, Happy Third Trimester to me! I hope everyone had a great Christmas/New Year/Holiday Break. You can tell by all of my recent posts and pics that we had a wonderful two weeks off! It was great to have Travis home with me last week too. I think I could've used a few more days off of work, but then I'd probably be tempted to spend money or something so being at work is okay. The best part is that we have two cars now, so I can drive straight to work and straight home! I am going to miss my carpool dates with Jenni in the afternoons, but it's nice not putting so many miles on the car or using so much gas!

Here's what's happening to us this week:
- Travis started his new job at the church yesterday. Today is his first day in the office and I talked to him earlier. Apparently, his day is very busy but good! :)
- We are hosting a National Championship party at our house on Thursday, so we are really looking forward to fellowship, football and hopefully a LONGHORN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP! Hook Em!
- Travis is going to watch Avatar in 3D tonight with some guys. He saw it over the holidays with his dad and sister, but the 3D version was sold out then. This means that I might head over to Jenni's house for a little bit to catch up since the holidays.
- It's getting more difficult to sleep comfortably now. I keep adding more pillows to the bed and I do feel sorry for Travis and Snuggles, as they are losing their own pieces of mattress property! I do have the new Snoodle Pregnancy Pillow and it definitely helps, but I've also added a few more since...
- People definitely notice that I'm preggo now. My ever-growing belly is getting touched often and I really don't mind, as long as it's not a stranger touching my belly. :)

Here's what's going on with Hudson's development this week:
This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with his legs extended. He's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing his eyes, and perhaps even sucking his fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While his lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if he were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother him, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.

Lord,
Thank you for these movements! I feel Hudson moving all the time now and it comforts me and reminds me that you are the Creator of Life. How amazing! Thank you for his growth and brain development. I pray that his lungs continue to mature so that when he enters this world, he will easily be able to take his first breath of air and scream! :) I pray that my body will continue to behave nicely through all of these changes and that my back pain will decrease. Thank you for allowing me to witness this miracle.

When I was reading the section about what is happening to the baby this week instead of "sleeping and waking" I read "sleeping and walking"--and for a moment I believed what I read. I pictured Hudson walking around in your belly. LOL

Happy 3rd Trimester!!
