Decorating Hudson's Room

Last week, Dani and Jenni came over one night to help me put up the decorations that Hudson recently received for gifts. We had three main projects:
1. Put up decorative quote above the closet door
2. Put up the picture frames above the changing table
3. Put up the sports-themed growth chart.

The pictures on the wall were a gift from both sets of Hudson's grandparents. They tell the story of his mommy and daddy and include pics of us when we were babies, four-year-olds, engagement, wedding and a few recent pics. I love it! The photos went over the changing table.

All were accomplished, thanks to Dani and Jenni!

We were also able to display Hudson's new shelf with his book collection thus far and the new little rocking chair that was his Daddy's rocking chair when he was younger. Thanks Grinna and Pop for the shelf and thanks Gran-D and Papaw for the rocking chair.

There was also a dramatic story involving a new glider/ottoman that my Grandmommy and Granddaddy ordered for us for Christmas. When we finally got it in, it looked like this:

When we opened it, we realized it was not the chair that they ordered and it was broken. Further investigation proved that the chair was a return from a couple in Pearland. They even had the return slip inside the box. It seems that Babies-R-Us just received the return and put our address on the beat-up box and shipped it to us. After a long ordeal with BRU on the phone, we got the chair returned and are supposed to get a store credit.

In the meantime, we got a call from our youth minister's wife asking us if we wanted their almost-new glider and ottoman. YES! It looks great in Hudson's room! Thanks, Jeremy and Liz! :)
