Ode to Katheter :)

So, as I mentioned, my college roommate, Katie, came for a visit last Saturday. She met us at PF Chang's for a birthday celebration meal with my family. They were all in town for my baby shower the next day. It was so great to see her! :) We realized that, sadly, we hadn't seen one another in person in over a year! Way to long, folks! We had fun catching up and joking around like we usually do. I find it so easy to have so many inside jokes with this lady. She cracks me up! :)

We added another funny story to our collection of memories... She brought a "special" birthday card to supper. It was hilarious, not trashy, if that's what you're thinking... Anyways, she included a nice gift inside and I am so grateful. Well, being the forgetful pregnant woman I am (not sure if I can blame this on the pregnancy though), I left the card at the restaurant under my seat and we didn't realize until we got home. Fail, Meagan. Katie was so understanding and she even called the restaurant and asked if they could check on it. Well, the hostess didn't seem to eager to check, so I called back and spoke with the manager (whom we had already had dealings with that night, haha). Of course he remembered our table, we gave him so much trouble, etc. He said he would check and he called back to say that they found a card for Meago, the Black Mamba (that's what the card said, funny story). I was a little embarrassed to pick it up from the restaurant, but so thankful that Katie offered to take me back to the restaurant and then back to my house so we could get something that SHE gave to me that I forgot. God Bless Katie!

And, as fate would have it, the Miss America pageant just happened to air that same night, so we got to relive the old days and critique contestants, their attire, looks, talent and interviews. It was great! :) Here's a picture from that night at the restaurant. I really intended to take more, but alas, I forgot. Surprise, surprise.

Apparently, she's got a hidden talent of eating flames, too. :) Thanks for coming, Katie! Love you!

MEAGAN! I am so honored to be featured on your blog! Really, I'm grinning ear to ear and just tickled pink... or tickled black, as the Mamba would have it.

I really treasured our time together, even though it was just about 22 hours. It made me realize -- or reaffirm my belief -- that it's so important to be intentional in friendships. I'll make more Austin trips, just for you! Travoisier and Baby H can hang out with us too, I guess. ;)

Love you, sweet friend!
