I woke up today with lots of energy and feeling very refreshed. I even got to work a little earlier than my usual lately (which is getting later and later, haha). Then, I was sitting at my desk and I felt my heart start racing and I felt overwhelmed and anxious. Nothing could explain this, I was not stressed, not busy and nothing is going on that is very stressful right now. Well, that didn't go away, so I called Travis and we decided that I shouldn't take any chances (I started getting a headache too), so I called the doctor. The nurse said that I should go ahead and come in today just to make sure everything was still good. My appointment was at 11:30, so Travis picked me up from work and we headed to the doctor's office.
BTW- My strep test came back negative, so that's good news too! :)
Everything was good. In fact, it was perfect. My blood pressure was wonderful, my pulse was normal and Hudson's heartbeat sounded great! I felt stupid, but the nurse said that it was probably a change in my rollercoaster hormones that made me feel this way. Apparently, it's pretty common to have these sudden changes occur when pregnant. Anyways, I went ahead and got examined so that I wouldn't have to come in on Thursday. I had not progressed any since last Monday. Still 80% effaced, barely (if any) dilation. Dang. That was a bummer. I was pretty sure the nurse was wrong. O well. I asked about how long they usually let you go past your due date before inducing and she said he will not let me go 41 weeks. That seems so far away. I'm less than 11 days away from my actual due date, so I guess it's not too long. For now, I'll just sit back, relax and get some reading and rest in before Hudson arrives. It could be a while, folks. I'll be sure to update here, on facebook and twitter. But, I wouldn't be expecting anything right away. Who knew my uterus was so accommodating? :)
BTW- My strep test came back negative, so that's good news too! I won't have to take any additional drugs during labor/delivery. :)

I so know the feeling! Savannah was two weeks late but a word of advice...enjoy the time with Travis! Andy and I went to at least three movies, went for a walk around town lake, ate at a couple of places. I promise when Hudson arrives you will forget about all the frustrations of not progressing.
I also wanted to tell you that I was induced and that was very hard for me to do. But God had a plan and some people that weren't going to be able to come were able too! hang in there!
Sorry to hear about the scare you had, but I'm so glad everything is ok. As other people have said, I'm sure you will forget all the waiting once you are holding him! Have you gotten to read any more of The Last Song? Maybe you should try to make a goal of finishing before he comes or something...even if you don't actually do it. It might just be a little distraction to keep the days passing :) I'm on chapter 19 now (I was farther than I thought) and it gets pretty good. Hope that helps and I'm praying for ya girl!
Go see a movie! Sam and I haven't done that in about 6 months now! haha. Try lots of walking, have eggplant for dinner and then go sit in the massage chairs at brookstone (but don't let the manager see you!) Those are some of the things I did hours before my water broke!
Hang in there, girl! This is going to be SO worth it. I can't wait to hold your little babe, so I can just imagine how hard the waiting must be for the parents-to-be! Praying for you often!
Bummer...let me know if you need me to come over some evening to hang out and take your mind of the slow ticking clock. :)
Oh man, that comment about sitting in the massage chair at brookstone.
I did that! I sat there for like 30 minutes... I think it was like the day after my due date. The managers totally didn't care and everyone walking past just gave sympathetic looks. It was soooo relaxing!! You should totally do that, Meagan!
