We're in Single Digits Now, Folks

Well, the countdown is officially in the single digits! Not that it means that Hudson is coming any time soon. I think he really wants to stay in my uterus forever! I can't get excited about anything labor-related anymore because it seems that when I do, nothing happens. Well, thanks for letting me be Debbie Downer today.

Actually, I'm excited about the countdown in single digits! It's a pretty day and I'm looking forward to being a slacker tonight with a movie and pizza (and some basketball). It makes it harder and harder to go to work everyday when I want to stay in bed with Snuggles or Travis (or both, depending on the morning).

Speaking of Snuggles- she has NOT been cooperating in the bathroom department lately. She goes outside all the time but she's obviously not going to the bathroom when she goes out. It's very frustrating, and it seems to go in phases. Not sure of the reason this phase is going on right now. Needless to say, Travis is on carpet-clean-up-duty today on his day off. I'm sure he's pumped about that and I love him for it! :)

On a more positive note, we are trying to spend extra time with the puppies lately since their worlds will be rocked soon with Hudson's arrival. The jury is still out on how they will react to Hudson, but we're praying it will be positive.

I can't wait to go into labor. I can't wait to start having contractions, bring on the pain! I can't wait to send out a mass text message that we're on our way to the hospital. I can't wait to get the birth plan started. I can't wait for our parents to begin their eager journey to Austin in anticipation for their first grandchild's arrival. I can't wait to see this little blessing and see what he looks like. I can't wait to experience this with Travis. I can't wait to begin my life as a mommy. I can't wait to bring him home and meet the puppies and get settled in our new lives. I just can't wait.

Until then, here's a cute pic of Snuggles from yesterday morning. Travis had already gone to work (early on Wednesdays), so it was just me and Snugs and neither of us wanted to get up. She's so cute. Can't resist that face, especially when she's tired and has bead-head. :)

So if you go past your due date, do you go into negative digits? Sorry, bad joke. I'm just kidding, hopefully that won't happen!

Dear Hudson,

I wouldn't mind having to drive your mommy to the hospital tonight.

Love,
Dani

I picked up a little book at Target today for $1.50. As I was reading it to Ellie it totally reminded me of you - if you just substitute a few words:

Little Chick could not wait for spring. He wanted to fly his kite and smell the spring flowers. "Be patient, Little Chick," said Little Bunny, "and soon winter will end."
Little Chick listened to his friend and was patient . "Hooray!" said Little Chick. "I learned to be patient and now spring is here."

I almost cried as I read it... remembering what it felt like those last days of pregnancy. You just want to see that baby, experience motherhood, and, last but definitely NOT least, be relieved of pregnancy!!!! ;-)

Hang in there, Meagan, Hudson is coming SOON!!!

That's actually funny, Shauna! I haven't thought of that. Hopefully we won't have to worry about it, though a friend of mine got an email a week past her due date that said "Your baby is now one week old, congratulations!" haha

I'm glad you laughed at that and didn't get mad! At least every day you really are getting closer to him being here :) By the way, The Last Song keeps getting better...

You are doing great, Meagan! You will look back on this time and realize how quickly it went. Enjoy these days with Travis--they will keep getting sweeter and sweeter with Hudson, too. Make sure we are on your mass email list. We can't wait to hear. You are all in our prayers. We love you, Cheryl & Bill
p.s.oh, how we remember waiting for those phone calls and being ready to get in the car--our bags were packed and in the car for 2 weeks before Kate came! Such fun! Your parents will all be so excited!
