Countdown says 5 days, but I think it's just tricking me and laughing at me for believing it, haha. What does it know anyways? Well, here we are, another Monday, another weekend has passed and another work week begins without a baby. It's okay (God keeps reminding me), there will be a day soon where we will meet sweet Hudson.
Thank you for your encouraging words. Yes, I realize that my due date is still 5 days away and many of you have gone two weeks past your due dates before delivering. I realize that I could still go longer, but I feel like I've reached capacity and it is uncomfortable to eat because there is no more room, even though I get hungry. I've been sleeping pretty well, except for last night when I couldn't go back to sleep at 3:45 after a trip to the potty. So, I'm feeling those effects today: sluggish, no make-up and scrubbin' it out in jeans and a t-shirt. I'm thankful that my job allows this, haha!
We go to the doctor tomorrow where I'm sure we'll discuss induction if necessary. I have a feeling that Hudson has hit a major growth spurt. I know he will eventually have to come out, but he has made no signs of doing that any time soon. I think that's the frustrating part for me. I was having contractions and my cervix was almost completely thinned out three weeks ago, but now I'm just stagnant. It's true, the waiting is the hardest, especially when you've been on "baby watch- any day now" for three weeks.
Continue to pray for us that we will have patience and selfishly, that the day will be soon! :) More importantly, please pray that Hudson and I will stay healthy until that time and when the delivery day comes, everything will go smoothly and Hudson and I will both be healthy! :)
Here's your 39-week update, but not much has changed....
Your baby's waiting to greet the world! He continues to build a layer of fat to help control his body temperature after birth, but it's likely he already measures about 20 inches and weighs a bit over 7 pounds, a mini watermelon. (Boys tend to be slightly heavier than girls.) The outer layers of his skin are sloughing off as new skin forms underneath.
