Last week was a crazy week for us! Our final event of the year at work, the state baseball tournament, started last Wednesday and finally ended on Saturday. Since baseball is one of my sports, I was super busy getting things ready for the tournament last weekend and before the tournament started. Wednesday was a LONG day because we had a monsoon rainstorm here in Central Texas. The first game was supposed to start at 10:00 am, but it didn't end up starting until 1:00 pm. That set our schedule back at least 2 1/2 hours the rest of the day, so we didn't end up starting the last game of the day (scheduled for 7:00) until almost 9:30!! Hudson did come and visit me at Disch-Falk (UT's baseball field) and we hung out in the suites for his first UIL event. I guess he's been to many more UIL events this year, but this was his first event outside the womb, haha. He was such a good baby!! He never cried and he even went to sleep while I was holding him. LOVE this baby!!

This is Hudson and mommy at the baseball tournament.
After working all day Wednesday and Thursday, we headed to Lumberton for a quick 18-hour trip for my cousin, Jessica's wedding. We were tired but the trip was not that bad because:
a.) Hudson slept the WHOLE way there and back!! (4 1/2 hours each way)
b.) I got to spend time with my hubby, and we've been so busy that we had not been able to hold a lengthy conversation in a few weeks, haha. It was really nice and made the drive go by fast!
c.) Since we traveled in mid-day on a Friday, traffic was GREAT!!
We had a great time at the wedding. Nonnie and Pop-Pop (Travis' Grandparents) watched Hudson while we went to the ceremony, then he got to join us at the reception. I am proud to say that he had his first dance with his momma, and I'll always remind him of that! :) Jessica looked beautiful and it was great to see family, even if only for a short time.
On Saturday morning, we woke up EARLY (5:45) to head back to Austin for the 5A State Championship Game. The game was at the Dell Diamond in Round Rock and we made it there in record time. We had our last centennial recognition (Praise the Lord!) and got to meet Nolan Ryan when he threw out the first pitch. Hudson got to meet Nolan, but we didn't get a picture because Nolan was super busy and didn't get to stay long. He did mention that Hudson looked like a, "little ballplayer". :)

It was so nice to get home and relax/rest for a day on Sunday before Travis headed to youth camp for the week. Dani is staying with me a few nights while Joel is out of town so I'm not so lonely. I talked to Travis this morning and he said they are having a great time and one of the youth became a Christian last night on the first night of camp! Woohoo!! :)
Keep praying for Travis and the youth as they are at camp this week!
We want to wish a special "Welcome Home" to Clay Jackson and Chance Abercrombie, a few of our friends who recently returned from Iraq/Afghanistan. So glad they are home and safe! Thank you for your service, gentlemen!
