Travis Pastoral Licensing/Ordination

Travis has worked at Bannockburn as the Associate Youth Director for almost three years, but he recently officially got licensed as a minister.  This was such a special time for him and for our family because it affirmed everything that Travis has felt God calling him to do since the 8th grade.  I cannot even begin to tell you how proud I am of Travis and how blessed I feel to be his wife. He is a great husband, father, friend, son, brother and youth minister.  He really has a gift to connect with the youth and does a great job as a youth minister. He is a caring guy with calm words and responses in times of trial and has words of encouragement and affirmation in good times.

I did not know this, but Travis' mom shared that the week that Travis surrendered to the ministry in 8th grade, she felt God calling him to be a minister as well. The very night that God laid upon his heart to work in vocational ministry, God placed that calling for Travis on his mom's heart too.  That was an awesome story to hear and another affirmation of God's plan for Travis and our family.

The other cool part of this day was that Travis' ordination/licensing ceremony was the same ceremony as my dad's deacon ordination service.  What a special time for him and my mom.  He has always been such a servant for Christ and others, so this formal service just affirmed the work that my dad has done for others in Christ's name my whole life.  I am so blessed to have such great godly men of top character in my life.

Travis' grandparents, parents and sister came in for the ceremony and reception. It was great to have them in town and spend time together.  They had a great time with Hudson and Brazos and snapped these pictures:
