Well, first I'd like to thank all of you for bringing a meal to us following the birth of Brazos. We enjoyed every meal, seriously! You know what enjoyed it a little too much? My thighs, hips and lack of a waist..... After all those yummy foods and desserts, I woke up about 11 days ago knowing that I needed a cleanse. As I pondered it more, I realized God was asking more of me. He wanted me to cleanse not only my body but also my spiritual life. I needed an uplift. I've become lax on my bible reading and prayer life and I was hungry for more of that goodness and less of the sweet sugary and carb-loaded goodness.
So, on the 4th, I started a 21 day cleanse, where I am staying away from breads or any white foods, sweets, sodas and processed foods. I'm eating lots of fruits and veggies and drinking a ton of water! Is it hard, yes! I have found myself wanting a sonic drink or pizza or fries, etc. I'm trying to be creative with salads too, which is a huge step for me. In 8 days, I have not cheated, and I am feeling good. Still breastfeeding and trying to squeeze in a workout between helping my parents move and pack for our mini family vacay to Dallas this weekend.
Also, I was convicted that I'm spending way too much time on social media like facebook or twitter. So, I'm trying to replace the time I spend there with praying or reading my bible. So far, it's been okay, but when I'm feeding Brazos, that's the hardest time bc that's when I used to check up on my peeps.
Report so far: no sweets, carbs, sodas, facebook or twitter in 8 days. Results: 8 pounds gone and a consistent quiet time.
I'll give another report soon. Tata for now!

Hey girl, I know I don't usually comment. And, I hop you know I'm not trying to tell you what to do - if it's working for you then, by all means stick with it! Buuut...if you start noticing your sweet baby waking up early or fussy, it's probably because of the carb cutting. Most people *have* to eat carbs while nursing if you aren't supplementing. I know. I hate it too, but it happened with Hannah when I tried to start dieting too soon. Your milk supply might change. Just wanted to warn you, because I didn't know when I did it either! Hopefully it won't happen to you!
Amy, thanks so much for that comment! Never be afraid to comment, I appreciate it. I thought about that the other day too and I'm not cutting out carbs totally, just white enriched flour. I'm still eating corn, sweet potatoes, brown rice and lots of oatmeal. Do you think that will be enough, I'm honestly asking your opinion here ;)
Love this! I have been trying to do the same with food but KNOW that I need to cut WAY back on social media. I deleted the apps from my phone and am amazed by how many times I find myself trying to go check them. WOW! Keep it up!
Megan, I think just keep an eye on it. If nothing changed with your supply, the color of his dirty diapers, or if he's content and happy then you're doing great. If those things seem strange send me a fb message and I'll tell you some of the thigs I did to help it.
