Two-Week Recap...

Okay, I apologize for my non-posting status in the past two weeks.... It's been crazy, but good crazy! We hosted my parents at our apartment during Travis' graduation weekend, while his parents stayed with his grandparents at a hotel. The graduation weekend was great, I am so proud of Travis and this rocky journey that he has been traveling... Graduation was good, the party was even better and the UT Commencement was great, once the rain stopped! I think his family had a great time getting away and we were so blessed with all of the support, gifts and people that came to the party. Thanks!!
That following Sunday, Travis and I traveled to Houston to meet my parents to stay the night. My mom's gastric bypass surgery was scheduled for the next morning, so we got up at 4:30 a.m. and headed to the hospital for the surgery. Praise the Lord, the surgery went well and my mom got to go home on Wednesday. She returned today for her check-up and she is feeling much better and can even eat creamy soups now! :) Thanks for your prayers about that!

On Thursday morning, we slept in and then packed for our mini-vacation to Dallas. We got to Dallas around 4:00 and headed to Justin and Jessica's new home for supper and to stay the night. After supper, we went to the local $1 theater and saw Leatherheads, which was pretty good. Afterwards, we met up with the Swansons at Shake's for some.... you guessed it... shakes! It was delicious!! It was great to see Sam and Brittany and to hear about their trip to Puerto Rico that they were leaving for the next morning!!

On Friday morning, we slept in and then headed to Katie and Brad's house to drop off Snuggles. Brad was so kind to volunteer to watch Snuggles so that Travis and I could go to the Kennedy Museum downtown and spend some time together. (I feel like we have a kid!!) I had been to the Sixth Floor Kennedy Museum, but it was still fascinating and I think I learned some new information. The Kennedy Assassination has always interested me and I remember family road trips and talking to my dad about the Conspiracy Theories....

We returned to the Gaultney's home and headed to Oak Cliff to visit the Bishop Arts District, which was lovely!! We ate at an eclectic restaurant, Tillman's, and then perused the local shops and boutiques. We stopped at an old-fashioned soda shop and purchased two different kinds of cream sodas in glass bottles. We headed back to Katie and Brad's house and played board games while watching the Spurs. On Saturday, we awoke to the smell of delicious pancakes, and I was so pleasantly surprised to see that Katie had made me MBH pancakes, which she also did in college. We visited the Dallas Farmer's Market and ate at Razoo's, which Travis enjoyed since the Razoo's in Austin recently closed.

We headed back to the Partlow's home that evening for their housewarming party and to stay our final night with them. The party was great and they had about 40 people show up, which was a great turnout! The food that they prepared was also delicious!! We went to church and lunch with them on Sunday before heading back to Austin.

The trip was fun, relaxing and we had a great time spending time with friends that do not live in Austin. I realized how much I missed those three couples and that we should see one another more often!! We were so grateful for the generous hospitality that we received and we were very proud of Snuggles, who enjoyed herself on the trip and was a big hit everywhere we went!!

Now, it's back to work and I'm trying to enjoy evenings away from school before summer classes start in a few weeks. Things will be getting pretty busy as I am organizing things for the State Baseball Tournament, which will be in two weeks!! Until next time, friends!! :)
