Well, technically, it's "half" Marathon Meagan. My dad and I decided that we were going to run in the Half Marathon of the San Antonio Marathon series on November 16th!! I've always had a life goal of running a marathon some day, so this will be a good start. I am a little nervous and I know the training will be tough, but I know that with God's help I can do it! It will be a great accomplishment and it will be fun to do it with my dad! He's excited too, because he's also had the goal of one day running a marathon. My great-uncle (my dad's uncle) runs in races and he has finished the Boston, New York, Washington DC and other marathons! I hope the Killam Running Gene was passed down to me! We start training in August, but I've already started running 3-4 times a week, I'd like to run about 10 miles a week right now to get ready for the training. The training program is 12 weeks long, so it will be a fun fall! I can't wait until we move into our new neighborhood and I can run in a residential part of town instead of on a treadmill or at Gregory Gym. I also can't wait until it gets cooler here, because there is no way that I can run in 100-degree weather!!
So, I guess now you can call me Prefontaine... For those of you who don't know who I'm talking about, look it up... Kudos to those of you who know! :)
