Well, with the conclusion of the State Baseball Tournament last weekend, I have officially finished my first full year at the UIL. Well, technically, my one year anniversary won't be until August 1st, but I have completed all of the events and the school-year is finished. Whew... I gotta admit that I have learned a lot this year, but I have enjoyed so many things about my job and I am excited about what the future holds here. I am so thankful for all of the great people that I work with, some of them make my job interesting and I hear things that I never thought I would hear at work... haha... But, I am very blessed to share an office with a great and godly woman and I am also blessed to receive such great instruction and positive feedback from my boss and supervisors.
Baseball was also my last event of the year to plan, and it was a little bigger than I bargained for... The extra day of competition made this four-day adventure long and tiring, but the overtime is always welcomed! I always enjoy getting to meet the coaches and administrators that I have worked with to get to the tournament and I really enjoy seeing the excitement and celebration from the kids that win state, it's priceless!
Update on my mom- she has lost 30 lbs. thus far and she is doing great! Travis and I will be going to Lumberton/Silsbee this weekend to visit, and I can't wait to see my mom and spend time with my parents. They are looking forward to our visit, and this will be Snuggles' first trip to the Killam home... My mom is excited that her grandpuppy will be visiting, and she has already purchased some new toys and stuff for this spoiled puppy.... Also, my dad and I have started running again, and we are involved in a new competition of mile times... Apparently, he ran a mile in 7:50 the other day, so I have to work hard this week to be able to beat him when I go home.. I surely don't want my 52-year-old dad to show me up!!! :)
Gotta get back to work and catch up on some things that I neglected during baseball....
