Week One- DONE!

Well, since yesterday was Tuesday, I headed to my weekly Weight Watchers meeting at 5:30. Before I went to the meeting, I went to the Rec Center and ran for 20 minutes and briskly walked for another 10 minutes. Sweaty and smelly, I weighed in and.....

I lost 5.6 pounds!! I was so excited!! I know the first week is the biggest weight loss, as most of the weight is water weight, but this kickstarted my weight loss journey and I am more motivated than ever. It has definitely helped that I have been working out every day for the past seven days, and not just walking. I have the soreness to prove that! Though I still have a ways to go, I'm off to a good start and I am so thankful for that!

Thanks for your encouragement, keep it coming! I need to look for more recipes to try, and I may want to borrow Dani's Weight Watchers cookbook.... I definitely do not want to get bored with this healthy lifestyle. Boredom only leads to cheating on the diet- bad news!

On the job front, Travis had an interview at Frost Bank last Thursday and we are still waiting to hear more on that, but we had a total God thing happen on Sunday. After church, we went to eat with Bill & Cheryl Hayden (Cole, Kristin & Connor too!) at Fuddrucker's (which is not the best place to go while trying to eat healthy). We were talking to them about the job status for Travis, and how he is still looking for a job, and a guy from church walked in and Bill introduced us to him. He has worked in the banking industry for many years now, and he talked with Travis a little while, and they swapped numbers because the man said that he thinks he might be able to help Travis get a job!! This was such a God-thing!! Thank you, Lord!

Fast forward to Tuesday... After playing phone tag for a day, Travis finally got to talk with John (the man's name) and they visited for about 45 minutes! They had a good visit, and the conversation ended with two possibilities for Travis working for John (for commission only) at two possible jobs, and John was going to personally forward Travis' resume over to the presidents of two locally-owned banks that are hiring. We are praying about these possibilities and are excited about what God has in store for our family. Things will also be changing at my job soon as we retire our executive director and usher in a new director at the end of this month. One of my colleagues will also be leaving at the end of the month, so there will be lots of shifting and possibilities opening up here. I'm praying that God's will be done and that I am satisfied with whatever job he gives me.

That's the news for now. I'll inform later on any new developments! :) Have a Wonderful Wednesday!!

And for Travis, praise the Lord. We're praying for the perfect opportunity for him.

Keep on keeping on!

I don't have a weight watchers cook book, but I do remember someone was talking about having one the night we went to see Bride Wars, we just have to figure out who it was.
