Dear Friends,
Please pray for the Meredith Family. Gene Meredith passed away after a long fight with brain cancer. He was diagnosed in June 2007 with only a few months to live, but he ended up living for almost two years! His daughter, Gina, played basketball for my dad when he first arrived in Lumberton. Their family is also a member of Crestwood, and Gene was always very supportive of his kids and loved his wife, Peggy so much. Peggy was the principal's secretary at Lumberton Intermediate School, so we also saw her a lot too growing up. Gene's funeral will be tomorrow at Crestwood. Please be lifting this family up as they celebrate his homecoming in the midst of missing him here on earth.
Also, if you want to be encouraged, please read some of Gina's blog. She started it not long after her dad was diagnosed, and has updated it since then, even yesterday. I am so encouraged by her faith through all of these trials and it really brings this life into its temporary perspective. I am reminded that this life is only but a vapor compared to our eternity in Heaven, for those that know and trust in Him. You can check out her blog here.
