My parents came in for Labor Day weekend and the first UT game, and we had a good time. My mom and I woke up early and went to local garage sales, and we ended up scoring a never-used changing pad, lots of books, and a pack-and-play for her house! We went back to our house and watched some college football and napped until we had to leave for the UT game that evening. The baby's first UT game was great, we won (convincingly) and the team looked great! What made it better was that ou lost to BYU, which is always a nice surprise! We're already looking forward to the next home game against Tech, and my parents will be in town for that game too.
Sunday did not start out well. I woke up dreaming about vomiting (disgusting, I know) and then ran to the bathroom just in time. I couldn't even keep my nausea medicine or gatorade down. I'm so glad my mom was there to provide that extra motherly touch. We didn't make it to church, and I ended up sleeping until almost 2:00 that afternoon. I woke up and tried to eat a yummy lunch that my mom made and then I was feeling a little better so we headed to Target to check out the baby stuff they had on sale this week. My mom helped me out by showing me what I should register for after we find out the baby's gender. I'll be registering at Target and Babies-R-Us, since some of my family does not have a Babies-R-Us near to them in Lufkin. I still wasn't feeling 100%, so we headed home and rested for the rest of the evening.
I woke up feeling much better on Monday, and we spent a few more hours with my parents before they headed back to Silsbee. While they were here, my dad did the laundry, vacuumed and swept while my mom cooked, mopped, and fixed meals for us and froze them for us to eat later. :) I love them!!
After they left, we started clearing out the baby's room. I will post pictures soon on that transformation. The room used to be our "game room", but it was actually a junk room that we never used much. We moved some of the furniture in our guest room so Travis could put all of his guitars and music stuff in there, and my parents will take the couch and end tables back with them when they come in a few weeks. We have to find some room for all of our board games and movies, though. Should be a challenge! I'm ready to start decorating and painting the room, though. :) I know I need to wait until I know what color we will be using, and that won't be until after we find out the gender.
Speaking of that, I have some friends who took the intelligender test that you can buy at HEB or Walgreens. You can take it any time after 10 weeks and it uses urine analysis to determine your baby's gender. It's 90% accurate, so I'm curious about buying one. I don't know that I'd be able to trust it completely, but it's been accurate for all of my friends so far! It's $35 , so I don't know if it's worth the money when we'll find out for sure in a few weeks. I had a dream that I took the test and it was a girl though. Weird that it can tell you that so early!
Baby at 10 Weeks:
Though he's the size of a kumquat-- a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom — and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, your baby has now completed the most critical portion of his development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature.
He's swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including his kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout your pregnancy.
If you could take a peek inside the womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin.
In other developments: Your baby's limbs can bend now. His hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over his heart, and his feet may be long enough to meet in front of his body. The outline of his spine is clearly visible through translucent skin, and spinal nerves are beginning to stretch out from his spinal cord. Your baby's forehead temporarily bulges with his developing brain and sits very high on his head, which measures half the length of his body. From crown to rump, he's about 1 1/4 inches long. In the coming weeks, your baby will again double in size— to nearly 3 inches.

I wouldn't spend the $35 on intelligender. I haven't heard of them being accurate. The online 'chinese gender predictor' told me girl and so did ultrasound so who knows! It was hard to wait- but it'll be fun to find out when you do!
That's wonderful that your parents were able to be there and help! I totally know the feeling... it WILL be so worth it! I haven't been sick in a WHOLE WEEK now and am just so relieved ;-)
Praying for you! Hope you can get lots of rest and that the nausea starts going away SOON!
