We just got back from our doctor's appt. I am happy/blessed to report that everything looks GREAT and Hudson is my kinda guy! He's healthy, active and not too big/not too small. All organs look great and bones are growing on schedule. Right now, he's 2.9 pounds, which is at the 40-percentile (normal), and if he keeps growing at this rate he will probably weigh around 6.5-7 pounds at birth! This is great news to me, I can just fatten him up after he arrives, haha!
Here's our latest ultrasound picture:
You can see his facial profile (Travis thinks he has my nose but his lips and eyes, but I think he has my eyes) and some appendage. I am thinking hand, but others think leg and I forgot to ask. Sorry that the picture quality is blurry, it was hard to get a good pic of him this morning. Also, I was unable to scan the photo, so I had to take a pic of it with my phone.
I took the gestational diabetes test yesterday, and I passed with no gestational diabetes. Dr. Peveto said that my blood work looked great and I am very far from having gestational diabetes. The drink was not that bad, the worst part was waiting for an hour after I drank the drink and before they could take my blood.
I think we've also selected a pediatrician. After much research, we decided to go with Dr. Mouser, which is actually just down the road from our house. They take our insurance (which I found it odd that a lot of local pediatricians don't accept BCBS) and she is a member at BBC. She was highly recommended by some parents of youth, and it helped that her office is so near and has Saturday care hours as well if needed. I am sending in our hospital pre-registration papers soon and we will probably go to take a tour of the labor/delivery wing at St. David's North Austin next Thursday evening.
Dr. Peveto reminded us that we are in the home stretch now and, if Hudson had to be delivered now, he would have at least an 80% chance of survival at this stage, which is great! Now Hudson, we do want to see you, but we would like for you to stay cooking for a few more months! :)
Travis is going to a leadership meeting at Highland Lakes with other youth ministers this afternoon. They will be staying the night and planning for youth camp this summer. He will be back tomorrow morning. Please pray that they have safe travel and a productive planning meeting.
I am leaving tomorrow at lunch to head to Silsbee for my first baby shower on Saturday! I'm excited about the shower.
On other news, please pray for my mom's family. We learned yesterday that my mom's Aunt Beth was in critical condition for a rare skin syndrome that shut down her organs within days. She passed away this morning, so we will probably be attending visitation/funeral on Saturday evening/Sunday morning. Thanks friends.
Keep praying for the Haitians and the rescue/recovery efforts there and for a continual safe pregnancy for me and little Hudson.
